Auto Glass in Pittsboro and Siler City, NC

Auto glass in Pittsboro and Siler City is handled by Impex Auto Glass by mobile service: the technician brings the glass to the car, at home, at work or wherever it is parked in Chatham County. Impex’s shops are in Greensboro and Charlotte; there is no Impex shop in Chatham County or in Sanford, and none is needed for the work to be done properly at your car.

Pittsboro

Pittsboro has been the seat of Chatham County since 1787 and had 4,537 people at the 2020 census. US 15 and US 501 run together through the center of town as Hillsboro Street and Sanford Road and cross at a traffic circle that surrounds the historic Chatham County Courthouse. US 64 bypasses the town to the north, with its business route through town. From the courthouse, US 15/501 leads 17 miles north to Chapel Hill and 17 miles south to Sanford.

The town is growing: plans for the 7,100-acre Chatham Park development were announced in 2013. Jordan Lake lies about eight miles east.

Siler City

Siler City is in western Chatham County and had 7,702 people at the 2020 census. US 64 passes through the northern part of town as 11th Street, running east to Pittsboro and west to Asheboro, and US 421 bypasses the town to the northeast on its way between Sanford and Greensboro. Siler City appeared in two episodes of The Andy Griffith Show in the 1960s, and its commercial historic district is on the National Register of Historic Places.

For glass work, Siler City’s position on US 421 matters: it is on the direct road between Sanford and Greensboro, where Impex has one of its two shops. If you are heading that way anyway, the shop is an option; otherwise the van comes to you.

What Impex does in Chatham County

New cars, new cameras

A new windshield on a recent car is rarely just glass. If there is a camera at the top of the windshield, I-CAR lists windshield removal among the events that can require it to be aimed again, and the manufacturer’s procedure may call for a static calibration with targets, a dynamic calibration on the road, or both. Impex says its technicians complete both in one visit, in 30 minutes to 2 hours. A dynamic calibration needs suitable roads: the straight stretches of US 64 and US 15/501 are the kind it asks for. Whether the calibration can be done at your home depends on your car’s procedure, and Impex tells you when you book.

Insurance

In North Carolina a broken windshield is normally a comprehensive claim, paid less any deductible, and NC has no zero-deductible glass law. Under G.S. 58-3-180 you choose the repair service, and the insurer pays the same whichever you choose. Impex works with all major insurance providers; see glass claims.
